EURONET 50/50 start!

 

In our school  The Fiends of the Earth Club is very active.  It focuses on improving awareness of Earth and environment problems and it gives us possibility to take part in many projects organized via Internet. We learn new words and concepts connected with environment and gain some  knowledge about renewable  energy sources. On IT lessons we measured how our attitude to environment changed during the EURONET 50/50 project realization.  We played different educational games and solved eco puzzles. We also took part in the series of lessons entitled “Help the environment – save energy”, as well as in “A day without photocopying” and “A day without electricity” organized once a month.  

 

We formed Energy Patrols in  EURONET 50/50 project and measured temperature, brightness in classroom and other rooms in our school, as well as gas usage with special equipment  every day. Members of Patrols changed  often because we all were trained  how to do it. They switch off the unnecessary light and lower the temperature whenever it is too high.

 A competition on the best label promoting energy saving was announced and the winner’s label was placed next to all the electric switches in our school. The 1000 PLN received from the “Partnership for environment” Fund was spent for the purchase of energy saving light bulbs and motion sensors
